FUTURE ISSUES

JUNE: GLASS
We’re looking forward to a sparkling issue of AQUILA with this topic! Find out about lots of different types of glass and how it is made – there’s even a recipe but you need to heat it up to 1700ºC! Maybe not one to try at home. We look at the history of glass, from as far back as the ancient Egyptians, and a little nearer our own times, at the child glass workers of the 19th century.

Our world goes to northern India to visit boy monks in a Buddhist monastery, Calculata tells the story of a mathematical genius whose ideas have kept mathematicians puzzling for centuries, and Polly Chrome shows you how to make marionettes.

Don’t miss the first part of a new story, set in South Africa, ‘Murder in the deep’, win fun science kits and see which lucky reader won a balloon ride!

JULY /AUGUST  Birds of prey/ Coast of Britain
Coming soon! The double summer issue of AQUILA – the July and August magazines published together at the beginning of July, in time for the holidays. There’s a special Olympics feature, and our philosophy twins ask ‘What is a game?’
