I love reading through a new magazine when it arrives and particularly love the illustrations. I often have a go at making something within the magazine and this month I decided to have a go at the Perfect Pecking Hen during half term. I’m so pleased with her and can’t wait to show it to all my friends!

Dear AQUILA,
I LOVE AQUILA! I have been subscribed to AQUILA since April 2021, so I am still quite new. However, whenever AQUILA arrives at my doorstep, I carefully tear off the envelope and I will read for an hour or two. Not many people mention this, but I love Ed’s little comments, they make the magazine even funnier! I also have a few magazine suggestions, maybe a Rabbits issue? I of course love Harry Potter and Star Wars and it would be cool to see issues about those topics.
Bye for now,
Kaan Au Askar
P.S I look forward to the next issue!

I know that everybody says this but Aquila is the best!!! My favourite issue is the Christmas one because my birthday, is four days before Christmas Day, and because there is a rat/mouse on the cover. I love arts and crafts so the activity’s in each issue are perfect for me. My 7 yr old brother William has an an issue from two yrs ago. He loves it because general knowledge is totally his thing. I love roller blading, acting, singing, swimming and reading. I also make hair scrunchies to raise money for turtles. I had a go at making the sewer in the London issue 2021, and I was really pleased with the results. There were some plastic Halloween rats lying around in my room, so I added them to my sewer. My real rats also decided to add themselves to my sewer which was fun. From Sophie and her rats, Oreo and Polar-bear

Dear AQUiLA,

I know everybody says this (and that, and that, x10000000 and that) but I loooooooooooooove AQUiLA!!!! And this letter is gonna be soooooooo random!!!
I have 2 cats, Timmy and Courgette, and they are the cutest things in the world! I started in December 2021 and my favourite one is ... the maths issue! I think I like it because of the infinity hotel. I went to a place called Bude once and made a joke. What did the child say when he saw bude? BUDE-IFULL!!! I live in England and WOOOOW this letter is long. I better stop now.

Tanya, 9 years

P.S. Can you do an issue on coding because I haven’t read one yet. OR singing.
P.P.S. I need an extra P.S. in there to make it AQUiLA style.
P.P.P.S. Bye!
P.P.P.P.S. This is going to be the last one: I love Ed (Freya Hardy’s) notes! She makes the magazine so much better! What was the first ever issue? What date? I have so many questions!

Hi Aquila!
I know that everyone says this but I love your magazine. My first issue was Japan (June 2020) and it made me want to visit Japan. I LOVE Japanese food!
My favourite page of the mag is Brain Feeders because the puzzles are really fun to do.
My favourite issue so far has been Chocolate (April 2022). The reason for my love of chocolate is when I was little, my brother and I were eating chocolate buttons. I had fewer chocolates than him so I wrote a letter to the company and they sent me a free voucher for more chocolate!!!

Love from,

Dear Aquila, I love your magazines!! I always take them into school and read them but my English teacher ALWAYS says 'You need to read more things you age, like novels! Not magazines!' Little does he know that these magazines are so informative and entertaining that they put Charles dickens to shame! I never really make anything from the magazines though as they are quite complicated and require a lot of equipment. I have SO many magazines. Whenever I get one in the post I immediately flip to the back to see what Ian has to say and then go through the brain feeders. An issue I'd really like to is is an issue on gay rights and the LGBTQIA+ community. Thank you so much for making such amazing magazines! Yours sincerely, Ramona

Hi there fellow Aquilanaughts,
My name is Genevieve and three years into receiving Aquila mags I have finally got around to writing in! This year I started high school and despite the HUGE workload, I have found time to read Aquila. In fact, I have found time to read a lot of things. Some recommendations for avid readers include the Ruby Redfort series, The Children of Castle Rock, Inkheart, Solving for M, and obviously Harry Potter. Here in Sydney, we are in lockdown but hopefully, it will end soon. The only member of my family who is thrilled by a lockdown is my dog, Endeavour. Having everyone around twenty-four-seven is his idea of heaven.
Happy holidays everyone,
Genevieve, (almost) 13

Hi I know EVERYBODY (and I mean EVERYBODY) says this and this and this and (this this this this this etc) but your magazines are EPIC (and I mean it). I live in the South Island of New Zealand, I am a major bookworm and I spend a lot of my time reading. All of the books out there are counted as my favourites with me! Some book recommendations here: Out Of My Mind by Shannon Draper, October October by Katya Balen and Chasing Space by Leland Melvin are some really good books. I really liked all of the issues and I am really looking forward to another year of subscribing! If I really have to pick my favourite issues it would probably be: creative coding, Japan and ice age. I was looking through the Japan issue and found the manga tutorial. I decided to have a go and here is the outcome:

Anyways, recently we got 7 neon tetras in our new fish tank and they are really cool, they are also voracious eaters now I should really stop writing.

P.S books are awesome

Hey Aquila,
I’m Connor from St Ives, NSW, and your mag is my favourite of all the magazines I have read, my favourite parts being puzzle sections and the historical stories. I’ve been receiving your magazine for about 6 years now, though it was my sister who was originally subscribed to your mag. One of my favourite issues was Night At The Movies, which inspired me to do a PIP(Personal Interest Project) about the history of animation. I once brought the What Is Art? issue into school and my class and I figured out The Attack Of The Vindaloo Vandal, which everyone LOVED. I’m not sure if you’ve done one yet, but I’d love to see a Thomas Edison issue. This is my cover design for a potential Albert Einstein issue, something else I’d really love. I hope you like it!
Kind Regards,
Connor.
P.S Aoife I also love Skullduggery Pleasant!!!

Dear Aquila,
We love your magazine and have subscribed for about 4 years now. Our Grandfather buys it for us. We lived in Germany for 3 years but now we are back home in Auckland, New Zealand. Our favourite issues were London and Dinosaurs. We would love it if you did one about Pokemon!
We really enjoy the short stories too.
Here we are with a picture of our rocket we made with our Dad – it’s from the Space issue. It was mostly successful but didn’t fly quite as far as we had hoped! We took a funny video and sent it to our family too!
Keep up the good work guys!
